Community Colleges of Pielavesi and Keitele
The community colleges of Pielavesi and Keitele support the well-being of the municipal citizens and free-time residents by offering a wide range of learning and development opportunities and related free-time activities. The community college offers a wide range of learning and development opportunities for the population of the region. In community college, you can study many kinds of things for example handcrafts, music and languages.
A course catalogue is published twice a year with course details. All the groups have obligatory pre-registration.
The community college office of Pielavesi is located in Opinportti and most of the teaching is organized there. The community college office of Keitele is located in the library and the learning takes place at the corner of Tossavainen and the school.

You can familiarize yourself to the course programs on the college website. You can sign up to a course in Hellewi (online service) or by phone. You need the course number when signing up.
At the community college, you can enroll in individual courses, obtain a personal season pass, or get a family pass designed for families.
With a season pass, you can attend five courses during the semester. The season pass cannot be used for private lessons, special courses, or courses that incur venue rental or other costs. These restrictions are mentioned in the course descriptions.
The family pass is intended for families with at least one child under the age of 18 who is participating in a course organized by the community college. Family members can collectively attend five courses during the semester. The family pass cannot be used for private lessons, special courses, or courses that incur venue rental or other costs. These restrictions are mentioned in the course descriptions.
- The course fees are 1,20 €/h and 1,50 €/h. (Fee might be increased by any potential external venue rentals or other additional costs.)
- Private lessons: 15 minutes for €3.00 / 30 minutes for €6.00
- Season pass: €100
- Family pass: €100
Special courses are priced separately.
The course fees paid are non-refundable. Course fees over 100 € can be invoiced in two instalments on a request.
You can use ePassi as means of payment. Please inform the office if you wish to pay with ePassi.
The community college considers a broad range of citizens in its activities and is very responsive to course requests whenever possible. Promotes the skills, well-being and vitality of the local residents through networking and creativity.
